WORKSHOP B: HUMANWARE WORKSHOP

demonstrates the new Brailliant 14 braille display and the Victor Reader
Trek. Additionally, Andy Roberts will demonstrate and discuss the features
of the very popular Prodigi Connect and Explore 8”. We will leave adequate

WORKSHOP A: BRAILLE INSTITUTE WORKSHOP

Braille Institute’s Connection Pointe technology center staff will showcase
and explain the various Voice controlled home technology that is on the
market. Devices such as google home and apple’s HomePod can give you control
of everything from your music to ordering products to controlling your
thermostat using only voice commands. Join us as we discuss this exciting
new tech.
WORKSHOP B: A T KRATTER / ORCAM WORKSHOP

The OrCam MyEye, the most advanced wearable assistive technology, provides
independence by allowing access to visual information, conveyed by audio, on
a tiny camera which can be attached to any pair of eyeglasses. Using
Artificial Intelligence it reads text, recognizes faces, identifies
products, currency, colors, reads barcodes, and can tell the user the time
and date, by conveying visual information audibly.
The OrCam workshop will focus on how artificial vision and the My Eye 2.0
can help the blind and visually impaired community in their daily lives.
WORKSHOP C: IRIE AT WORKSHOP
9:45 AM TO 10:45 AM
This workshop will demonstrate how the new IRIE BrailleTrac 120 braille
embosser can be used to assist in the teaching of Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math for braille students. The presenter will demonstrate
conversion of bitmaps to tactile graphics, graphing tools, and specialty
tools for braille math that are used with the embosser. The presenter will
also demonstrate wireless embossing features of the BrailleTrac 120,
embossing directly from AirPrint and any mobile app that prints to an ink
printer, with automatic translation to braille prior to embossing.
